Yesterday was the first time in a while that I saw a rude driver. Dude was just horrible...and I was tempted to call customer service today and report him.
This was on the 6:45 pm northbound train from the station.
He seemed like he was in a hurry, because he kept saying "I gotta pick somebody up." Well, as he pulled off, there were a group of people who wanted to catch the bus. So he stops and lets them on, saying "hurry up!" But after he closes the doors, another lady walks up and flags him down, but he totally ignores her! A passenger even says, "You could have stopped for that lady," and that's the truth. He does it again to another guy that he passes while still in the station.
I don't know what the rules are on picking up passengers in the station, I think some of them are safety related, but I can easily place myself in the other people's shoes, and would want to be picked up, especially when the guy is passing right by you. That is the ultimate in rudeness to me and his attitude needed a serious adjustment. Matter of fact, I think I will call it in to customer service, because that was just uncalled for, especially when I have seen the generosity of so many other drivers who have stopped for me.
***Update*** Just got off the phone with one of the sweetest customer service people. Everytime I have called MARTA they have always been nice to me, and I really appreciate that. Well anyway, she took down the complaint, and said that even though the drivers do not have to open the doors again once they pull off, it's a common courtesy to do so when the riders are right there at the bus stop. I would encourage people to call MARTA anytime you have an issue, because this makes the entire system better for all of us.
