Refused a seat to another passenger?

I swear I wanted to, on more than one occassion.

This dude gets on the train, and I can tell by looking at him that he's gonna be a problem. I figured he was smelly.

He was.

I figured he would try to talk to me or ask me something.

He did.

He asked me first to use my phone. I said no. This came very easy to me because I let someone use my phone in January and after that I got very sick, not to mention she told me she was sick AFTER she used my phone!

Word to the wise...be careful who you let use your phone. Better yet, I advocate not doing it at all, unless it's an absolute emergency. Even then, make the call FOR them.

Anyway, so after the phone question (mind you I have my earphones on, so it's rude to try to talk to someone who is in their own world anyway), he starts asking other passengers, who all turn him down. Seems like they peeped him out too! So later on, he is motioning me again, this time for the time! I just ignore him totally, but I start thinking about it because I'm in the inside seat and he's on the outside, and I have to get by him to get off. But I'm like...whatever...I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I think someone else tells him what time it is, and thankfully that's the end of his pesky "begging." So we arrive at Five Points, and I know this is the moment of truth, but we scoots his legs over to let me out, and I avoid conflict. Much better than the time I had to hop over this drunk fool who wouldn't move at all.

Lesson learned: if someone questionable asks to sit down, either don't do it, or at least put them in the inside seat. hard to do when you have to move stuff to let someone sit down, but in the end, it's all worth it.
